Saddleworld 2014 Australian Dressage Champonships -
Top Class FieldEntries have closed with high entries across all levels.
The maximum number that can take part at each level under EA National Dressage Rules is 35 horse/rider combinations. Horses are ranked on their top three performances during the qualifying twelve-month period and the top 35 are accepted to compete at each level. Reserve lists exist at all levels up to FEI Intermediate I.
The standard of entries this year is very strong with competitors from South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory taking part.
The Needs for Steeds Prix St Georges had the highest number of entries at this event with over 60 horses qualified and the top ranked 35 horses will take part. The top three horses at this level coming into the Championships are Diamond Star ridden by Judy Dierks (NSW), Bellario – Deon Stokes (WA) and Furst Tyme – Nicole Tough (QLD) all averaging 70% plus scores in the lead up.
Australia’s highest scoring rider at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, Mary Hanna will take part in the Grand Prix CDI-W on her Australian based horse Umbro. Others to watch in the Grand Prix are Heath Ryan and Regardez Moi who were in winning form at the Sydney CDI in May and the recent NSW Championships, Carolyn Wagner on Tango and the youngest rider in the CDI-W field, Katharine Farrel on Luxor 118, is sure to give the more experienced riders some strong competition.
