The Saddleworld Australian Dressage Championships will take place at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre from Thursday through to Sunday.

Para Equestrian competitions start a day earlier on Wednesday, 22 October culminating in the Freestyle competitions on Saturday. Like all National Championships, Interstate rivalry is evident especially in the Teams Competitions.

Each State selects horse and rider combinations to represent their State across a range of nominated Equestrian Australia and FEI level competitions and the competition does seem like a duel at times when State pride is on the line….
Strong Teams are expected from Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales whilst the States that haven’t enough athletes group together to make up a combined Team - it only takes one star rider from the smaller states to shift the balance back towards the combined team.

The Saddleworld Australian Dressage Championships gives all dressage fans and riders the opportunity to be part of the action at our National titles and at the same time support their favourite horse and rider. Our high profile riders have just one aim at this time of the year – the title of National Champion.
