Fiderfurst at the Nationals

Fiderfurst

The team at Saddleworld Gympie in Queensland are well used to achieving goals and were delighted to add a successful lead up and debut appearance, at the Saddleworld 2014 National Dressage Championships at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre from the 23-26th October, to their list.

FiderfurstFiderfurst was imported by Saddleworld Gympie principal Madonna Hedberg earlier this year. He is by Fidertanz out of a Friedensfurst/Liberty mare. Madonna said, “Finding the right stallion for Australia was a painstaking exercise and we looked at many young stallions in Europe.  This boy ticked all the boxes; he has proven bloodlines, good looks and movement to burn.  His assessment scores highlighted a great temperament and we have been very pleased with everything he has done so far.”

In Germany, Fiderfurst passed the Hanoverian Licensing and was awarded Premium status.  He will stand at Madonna’s Arnage Warmbloods and is sure to add considerable depth to the Australian performance horse gene pool.

Queensland based professional dressage rider and trainer Emma Flavelle is campaigning the stallion for Madonna and rides him in the new Prestige X-Helen dressage saddle (designed by the world No 2 dressage rider, Helen Langehanenberg from Germany).

With only 4 Australian competitions under his belt, Fiderfurst’s scores met the qualification criteria for the Australian Championships. Madonna and Emma decided the young stallion was well up to the task of competing against the best novice combinations in the country, so the entries went in.

Otherwise known as Choco, Fiderfurst has outstanding presence and is proving himself to be very trainable with an ideal temperament for competition.   At the “Nationals” he was awarded 2nd place in the Novice 2.2 on a pleasing 74.381% and he achieved 4th place in the Novice 2.3.

Madonna said, “We were delighted with Choco, he travelled well and settled in to accept the big SIEC atmosphere and the many new things he had to experience. We had lots of very encouraging comments and now look forward to progressing up the grades and reaching Grand Prix ... perhaps the Olympics some time in the future!!”

All Saddleworld connections are delighted to hear Saddleworld Gympie and Arnage Warmbloods’ news, and congratulate Madonna, Emma and of course Choco on a job well done.
