Saddleworld NT Presentation Clinic, Educating local Show Enthusiasts

Saddleworld Northern Territory acknowledges that due to their remote location, horse enthusiasts in the area are limited to the educational opportunities and other self-development clinics that are available to them.

Sarah Lock from Saddleworld NT said. “ We have taken an active role in giving people the chance to interact with like minded enthusiasts and learn new skills designed to help them to become more confident with their own abilities and to learn how to be better horse carers, handlers and riders.”

Saddleworld NT conducts many educational clinics to support the various interest groups in the local community, including Dressage, Massage Therapy, Horsemanship and Show Presentation.

Sarah added. “By popular demand, our Show Presentation clinic is now an annual event.  Our fabulous clinician is Nicole Groves from Western Australia; she is very knowledgeable and has an engaging style of explaining her skills.  We are delighted with the year on year growth in attendances for our Plaiting with Nicole clinics.”

  “When planning the clinic content, we aim is to help educate people to present their horses for success in the show ring.  Nicole demonstrates pulling manes, plaiting, applying make-up, trimming and colour selections for outfits and browbands.  In fact, the entire show ring presentation is addressed.”

“Due to the questions that we are often asked in the store, which highlight the level of uncertainty about showing and show classes, this year we added “Showring Etiquette” to the clinic and the subject was very well received and very beneficial to the show enthusiasts in the audience, particularly younger people and those making their show ring debut.”
