Eurohunter Fabrics - Ballistic nylon is a thick, tough, synthetic nylon fabric used for a variety of applications. Ballistic nylon was originally developed by the DuPont Corporation as a material for flak jackets to be worn by World War II airmen. The term ballistic nylon takes its name from the fact that it was intended to protect its wearers from flying debris and fragmentation.
Oxford Weave fabric consists of two, thin warp yarns woven into very soft, thicker yarn in the filling direction. The characteristics of Oxford Weave is that it is fine, soft and lightweight.
Ripstop fabrics are woven fabrics often made out of nylon, whilst using a special reinforcing technique that makes them very resistant to tearing and ripping. During weaving (thick) reinforcement threads are interwoven at regular intervals in a crosshatch pattern in the fabric. Advantages of ripstop fabrics are the favourable weight to strength ratio and that smaller tears and rips cannot easily spread further in the fabric.

Eurohunter Denier Rating - Denier refers to the weight of the fabric used. A higher number refers to a heavier thread while a lower number indicates a finer thread. The fabric can be woven from nylon yarns of various deniers such as 600 denier and 1680 denier. As the denier rating is associated with the strength of a rug this is why it is often used in the description of horse rugs.

Eurohunter Polyfill - Polyfill is a general term used to explain the filling inside horse rugs. The polyfill used is a resilient, lightweight, fluffy filling that helps to provide body warmth. The higher the number used will mean the warmer the rug is.

Eurohunter Teflon - Teflon® fabric protector is the leader in durable water repellency, stain and soil protection for apparel, accessories, commercial and technical fabrics. Teflon® fabric protector products provide durable, long lasting protection against oil and water-based stains, dust and dry soil, which helps fabrics look newer longer and are easy to care for. All of this without impacting the look, touch, feel, colour or breathability of the fabric.

Eurohunter Cotton - Cotton is a soft, staple fibre that grows in a form known as a boll around the seeds of the cotton plant. The fibre most often is spun into yarn or thread and used to make a soft, breathable textile, which is the most widely used natural-fibre cloth today. The breathability and lightness of this fibre make it a perfect choice to blend with other fibres when making horse rugs.

Eurohunter Polyester - Polyester is a strong lightweight material that is made from synthetic polymers. Polyester fibres have a resistance to wrinkling and as a result, polyester fibres are sometimes spun together with natural fibres to produce a material with blended properties.

Care Instructions - Washing Instructions

For best results hand wash and hang to dry. If washed in a machine, use luke warm or cold water on the gentlest washing cycle. Avoid excessive washing or dryer heat. Always remove the leg straps before washing and ensure that any loose straps or surcingles on the rug do not become caught in your washer or dryer. Again, for the best results and to get the longest wear out of your rug “hand wash and hang to dry”. For waterproof and breathable rugs, please note: Heat, dry cleaning, strong detergents or bleach may reduce or damage your rugs waterproofing features.
