Amy Reilly is the Saddleworld Rising Star of 2017.
The competition has been recognising one rider each month from March 2016 until December 2016, with the final draw for the winner on Monday January 9, 2017.

Hard Yakka, Hard Metal - Long Ride 4 Life’s Hard Mettle
Long Ride 4 Life (LR4L) originated via a crazy idea about how to transport four horses from Queensland to Tasmania. Why not ride them, we thought? 4 People, 4 horses, 4 dogs! It can’t be that hard. This idea then developed into a community fund-raiser supporting the Leukaemia Foundation (LF) and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).

Bonnett’s Saddleworld Ambassador Zac Singlehurst - selected to represent Australia at WEG
Bonnett’s Saddleworld in South Australia are very proud that their support of 18 YO Zac has helped this talented and focussed Vaulter to achieve his goals to represent Australia at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France.
Zac gained his WEG qualifying score at the Adelaide CVI, in March 2014 when he rode his own Imaroo Megabyte. Zac gained valuable international competition experience when, in 2012 he was part of two teams of Australian vaulters who took part in a12 week cultural exchange trip which involved training and competing in Europe.

Elita Smith, staff, customers and friends of Saddleworld Sale (Victoria) were thrilled to learn that local girl Courtney Shears recently became Equestrian Victoria’s Young Showjumping Rider of the Year for 2014.
Courtney Shears is an active member of the Sale Showjumping Club and great supporter of the Sale Saddleworld store. She has been following the showjumping circuit for a number of years and is now enjoying recognition for her talent and great results.

Mustad Saddleworld hosts Broadford Riders’ Club July Rally.
It was with excited anticipation that the Broadford Riders’ Club committee planned the Club’s July rally to take advantage of the wonderful indoor facility offered by Mustad Lowdens Saddleworld in Kilmore.
Club Treasurer and Rally Co-Ordinator, Carol Hill explained, “At this time of the year we have had our rallies washed out or spoiled by cold weather, bogged cars and last minute cancellations.”

Saddleworld 2014 Brisbane CDI Final Wrap Up
At the completion of the final classes, the event has been deemed a resounding success and the Media Manager, Katherine Plomer, filed this report.
That’s it for another year! The Saddleworld 2014 Brisbane CDI has been bigger and better than ever. The Saturday night entertainment featuring the Freestyles and the Bareback Show Jumping drew in the biggest crowd at the event to date.
David Sharp, Saddleworld’s Business Development Manager states, ‘Saddleworld is thrilled to be associated as the naming rights sponsor with a prestigious event like the 2014 Brisbane CDI. Saddleworld 2014 Brisbane CDI – Day 1 Gets Underway in Fine Style.
To the delight of event organisers and the major sponsor Saddleworld, day 1 got off to a great start with the competition held in a wonderful carnival atmosphere, which set the scene for some really good performances at FEI level. The Prix St Georges and the Intermediate ll CDN took place and competitors and judges alike noted the high standard and outstanding quality of the horses and training.
Saddleworld Toowoomba, Nerang and Gympie stores have teamed up to bring the biggest and best Saddleworld trade stand at the competition. They will carry a range of fantastic items to delight the keen dresssage enthusiast, and look forward to friends dropping in and say hello.

Lanskey’s Saddleworld Townsville (NT) - This weekend Townsville is playing host to the Townsville 500 V8 Supercar Championships, but for those of us who prefer horsepower of the more traditional variety, there are lots of other events around our region.
The North Queensland Show circuit is in full swing with the Townsville Show last week, Ingham show is on at the moment followed by Atherton, Innisfail, Mareeba, Cairns, Mossman, Tully and Charters Towers to round out July.
With our glorious tropical winter this time of year, our local calendar is full with Horse sports, Cutting Clinics, Polocrosse Carnivals, Gymkhanas, Campdrafts, Rodeos, Races and Endurance Rides – plenty to fit in before the mercury rises - we send out our best wishes to all our friends competing and travelling to these events.
Saddleworld Warrnambool (VIC) – Geoff, Helen, Davina, staff and friends of Saddleworld Warrnambool were thrilled to see sponsored rider Bec Barling featured in "Horse Deals" as the featured rider.

Saddleworld Geelong sponsored the Best Mens Player (Open) class and Phillip said, “I am an active player and belong to the Corio Polocosse Club here in Victoria, so welcomed the opportunity to support an arm of equestrian sport that is close to my heart."

Saddleworld Wagga Wagga (NSW) – Sylvia (pictured left on her Club’s BBQ duty) and Marina Douglas are proud to announce, “Our district is entering a new era, with the recent completion of the outdoor arenas in the competition precinct of the Charles Sturt University.
The local council have committed to funding which will also include an amenities block. The main overseeing body that unites equestrian sport in the region is the Riverina Equestrian Association and under this umbrella we see a Horse Trials Club, Showjumping Club and a Dressage Club.
Sylvia said, “We are fortunate to have such a great facility on our doorstep and this will attract top level completion to Wagga Wagga. Everyone involved in our store is committed to supporting local events and Marina and I have a personal involvement in dressage. Saddleworld Australia Wide – All stores have been very busy with a “biggest and best ever” sale which has been an end of financial year stock reduction that sees customers enjoying heavily reduced prices on all stock. Storeowners and staff report that the feedback has been excellent and they have been pleased to see many familiar faces and lots of new people coming in to experience the Saddleworld – A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE.
Saddleworld Midland (WA) – The store is situated in a very community minded area and are getting behind a fund raising event for a dear friend Janine Johnson who was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year has been a major focus. SW Midland reminds customers, friends and family that they can be part of Xmas in July and a Silent Auction on the 19th, at the Jarrahdale Community Recreation Centre (YMCA) in Byford. Monies raised will help Janine to get to the USA for Treatment.
Saddleworld Devonport (TAS) – Everyone involved with the store is delighted to welcome Sabrina Docherty who recently joined the team. Saddleworld Rockhampton (QLD) - are proud to be the major sponsor of the equestrian events at the Rockhampton Show which were held on 4, 5 and 6th June, 2014. Graeme Salmond donned his most dapper attire to act as the Ring Master for the duration of the show. This year, the show hosted the Queensland Country Show Jumping Championships, and the Committee welcomed the daughter of the legendary jumping competitor Guy Creighton, Gemma, to be part of the Championships. Saddleworld Mt Gambier (SA) – Linda and her team at Saddleworld have generously sponsored the Penola Hunt Club Open Gymkhana which was held on Sunday June 29 with Novelty and Games events in the morning and the afternoon program featured Working Hunter classes and Teams Section Jumping, which the club sees as an important run-up to the Adelaide Royal Hunt classes, later this year. Linda has been involved in hunting for 25 years and says she loves to support her club and get the chance to showcase hunting to a wider audience.
Saddle-Up Saddleworld (VIC) – Last week we heard of Lyn and Bill McCallum’s proud participation in the journey of Australian international dressage rider Maree Tomkinson as she looks to qualify her outstanding imported mare Diamantina for the World Equestrian Games in Normandy, later this year. Well … it is official, that the reigning Australian Grand Prix Champions Maree and Diamantina have been named on the Australian selector’s “long list” of 7 combinations to take part in the final qualifying events. Great news for us all.
Saddleworld Caboolture (Qld) – Debby Cameron reports that this is a special time for staff and friends of the store, as they have been very involved in the Quarterhorse State Show which was held at Caboolture from the 24-29th June, and as major sponsors of the event, the store donated a fabulous Pessoa Gen X saddle to the winner of the Junior Hunter Under Saddle class. Debby was also an event organiser through her involvement with the Burpengary Western Performance Club and has been delighted with the positive feedback from competitors, spectators and fans of the Australian Quarterhorse.

Is proud to announce the recent sponsorship of Dressage rider Breanna Tilitzki.
Bree competes a number of horses through the grades and on to State and National Championship level. These horses include Heath and Rozzie Ryan’s imported Black Stallion Fiji R (pictured left). Bree has been training and competing Fiji R for a number of years and he is now campaigning him at FEI Level. Bree’s other competition horse is her own mare, Jewels Magic Lights. Jewels is a horse that Bree and her parents purchased from Heath Ryan as a future Olympic prospect.

Andrew Rose grew up with horses playing an important part of family life. Andrew’s father Gerry Rose (a vet) had interests in racing thoroughbreds. Andrew has carried on this tradition and said that it was a passion that has exposed him to the greatest disappointments and the great triumphs. On Saturday 7th June, the 2 YO Almalad (pictured left, by Al Maher from Ilhaam) delivered a highlight for Andrew and 6 friends who share ownership of this horse, when Almalad won the JJ Atkins Gr1 over 1600 metres. This is Almahad’s 3rd win from 3 starts. He is trained by the" queen of racing" Gai Waterhouse and was ridden by Tommy Berry.
The 2 YO has gone for a spell and will come back in readiness to take his place in the Caulfield Guineas at Caulfield in October.

Ros and Rex Lipp were thrilled to see their filly Tinto, hailed the “Darling of Downs Racing” when she won the Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm on he 31st May, 2014.
The 3 YO by Red Dazzler is trained by Rex Lipp from his Toowoomba stables and the winning jockey was Tim Bell. Ros Lipp said, “The filly is owned and raced by her breeder Grania McAlpine from Eureka Stud in Gambooya, Queensland, the home of Red Dazzler. We are all on a “high” and everyone connected to Saddleworld Toowoomba has shared the victory with us.

Saddleworld's $5000 Shopping Spree Winner Announced

Anna Zorzetti (pictured eft with Saddleworld's David Sharp) enjoys her shopping spree. Saddleworld's $5,000 Shopping Spree competition was open to customers of all Saddleworld stores around Australia and redeemable at that store.
Anna Zorzetti, a medical scientist who lives in Whittlesea, Victoria, won the coveted prize. Anna as been a customer of Mustad Lowdens Saddleworld in Victoria for 20 years and she filled in the coupon and lodged it whilst shopping in Kilmore. Many hopefuls also filled in their coupon when they were shopping at their local Saddleworld store.
